Junior Boys
The boys played away at Lewes this morning against Lewes, St Francis and East Grinstead. They played three incredibly close games, their hockey becoming increasingly developed throughout the game. Games were end to end and exciting. The first two games were very close with awesome goalkeeping by opponents keeping our sides at bay. Eddie, Riyad and Jacob had some nail-bitingly close chances and Beau got the two super goals. A massive thank you to Crispin, Corrie Piper and Kira for coaching, umpiring and photography in Lewes.
Junior Girls
The girls played at home this morning against two East Grinstead sides and Burgess Hill. The girls played superbly throughout the entire day, opening the tournament with a 1-0 win. The second and third games ended with narrow losses, the girls once again finding their rhythm in the fourth game with a second win. The girls lost one more game before winning their last game 4-1! It was an amazingly successful day for the side, absolutely unbelievable hockey being played. A massive congratulations to Daisy for being player of the match which an honourable mention to Hermione for her great attacking runs. Meg had an amazingly defensive display with Hannah and Phoebe doing a great job tracking back in each game. Grace scored the most goals and Albie saved the most, his great stops and blocks keeping the girls in the games. Thank you to Henry who was willing to dive on the pitch when we lost a player and ended up scoring! Also a massive thank you to Hillary for running the tournament, Keren and Jess for umpiring and Rach and Fi for coaching the side. A super impressive display!
