U10 Girls Tournament
Crowborough played host to six visiting sides in a Girls Under 10s Tournament this morning. Our young side performed superbly and earned an impressive two wins.
Our first game against Worthing saw the girls begin the day with an awesome win of 3-1.
Our next game was a narrow defeat against Lewes, the opposition scoring in the last few minutes to make it 2-1.
We lost 5-1 against East Grinstead 3s with some unlucky goals being conceded but the East Grinstead goalie was kept busy trying to keep out continuous shots on goal from the Crows.
Our final game saw the girls win 3-1 against East Grinstead 2s, showing some excellent passing wide and communication between players which lead to each goal.
Everyone gave their all in every match and listened intently to each piece of feedback given after each game. Player of the day went to Sally for her excellent goals, runs and drive throughout all the games.
A team effort saw the super Julie Bradshaw, Vicky Dennett and Keren Loder umpire, club president Hilary Brown run the event, Rach Catling coach the girls and Amy Currie providing teas.
Thank you to everyone involved who made this tournament happen!
U10 Boys Tournament
Our boys under 10s made the trip to Eastbourne to play their final county fixtures.
There were great goals from Hayden and player of the day Beauden.
Some very promising performances from our new players alongside our experienced Vase Silver winning boys saw a great day of hockey take place. They all did so well to hold the hosts to a 0-0 draw as well as performing competitively against Lewes and St Francis.
A massive thanks to Nathan Smith for coaching the side with great enthusiasm today.
