Well done to all four junior teams at the Ron Easton tournament this Sunday!
They took on the might of the County at the tournament with some incredible results and performances on display.
With no subs, the Girls U12s put on a hard working display gathering a win and a draw.
Over on the Summerdown pitch, the U12 boys quickly forgot their opener against eventual winners East Grinstead to play three amazing games, finishing with the goal of the morning in a win against Lewes. Eddie crossed fiercely from the right and Beau scored with a diving reverse hit. Great combination!
In the afternoon it was the turn of our junior sides. The girls, with three new members to their squad, soon gelled as a unit and played with skill and grit, again notching a win and a draw amongst their fixtures.
The boys junior side were competitive throughout and took third place. One breakaway goal by a side they dominated throughout, knocking them out of the medal positions.
It really was a group effort with five junior umpires, pitch organisers, coaches and photographers all coming from the Crowborough crew. Thank you to all that helped, especially to Ian Easton who took on many roles including umpire and presenter at this tournament which is so close to Crowborough's heart.
It was great to see the sides grow in confidence throughout the tournament, putting in some hard working performances and showing a superb team spirit. Some lovely teamwork, stoic defending and spectacular goals were shown all around. We look forward to the next one!
