What an incredible day at the Ron Easton 7AS event, named after Crowborough’s fabulous former great.
We must start by congratulating Amy Currie and our U12 girls who won the event! What an incredible set of performances they gave. Undefeated with five wins and two draws. Incredible. There were goals from Lottie, Matilda, Amber, Lydia and Liv. In defence Willow, Catherine and Liv were unbeatable. Keeper Isla was on fine form. On the wings Amber and Lydia worked to create chances. Lottie and Matilda led the goal charge. Well done girls! Amy said: “I’m super proud of them all for pulling it out of the bag, and shout out to Rob Springer who controlled the subs and offered great support.’
Young Lottie then remained to play in goal for our U10s. Managed by the super Michelle Hulse they recorded a third-place finish in what was only their second ever tournament together. Amazing work – especially holding Horsham in the play offs!
Well done also to Nathan Smith and the U12 boys who battled hard in a very strong line up of teams with some excellent skills shown by all the boys. They were determined and bright throughout.
Crowborough also brought four young umpires; Ted a now experienced official, and there were super tournament debuts from Ethan, Henry and Harvey. Thanks massively all!
Hilary Brown ran the South pitch all day and Keren Loder umpired, mentored and a tonne more! Thanks to our super coaches Nathan, Amy and Michelle and to all the supportive parents, plus official photographer Sophia.
It was super to win an event so close to the club - and it was super to bring such an excellent bunch of young people!
