Women's 1's:

Women's 1's travelled Burgess Hill for an early push back on Saturday. The team lost a few players due to illness before the game so went in on the back foot. The Crows started brightly and had much of the early play however Burgess Hill were able to nip through the defence to make it 1:0 at half time. Despite the team's desire and effort, Burgess Hill came out organised and determined in the 2nd half and found the net a further 4 times. The final score was a 5:0 defeat.

Women's 2's:

The women's 2's played against Hailsham women's 3s at home on Saturday under the newly installed floodlights. The fiery forwards made up of Tabi C, Jess I, Hannah W and Josie M were taking shots at goal within the first few minutes of the game, however Hailshams goalie wasn’t going to make it easy for the ladies and put a stop to any shot at goal. However Tabi C managed to make a fantastic run down the wing to find Josie M who was at the top of the D and swept the ball into the back of the goal. It was the lift the team needed after the multiple tries they previously had which they could not convert but then the goals kept on coming. Jess I (Player of the match) went on to score 3 goals and has well and truly found her place as a forward, her play was spectacular throughout. Hannah W and Eve T also got goals and Josie M got a 2nd. Michelle H and Claire N led the back line, along with superstar Goalie Tilly S, they ensured balls where quickly cleared down the wing so they where ready for the speedy wingbacks, Sophia D and Becky I to drive the ball up with support of the marvelous midfielders Flo F, Sharron McG and Caroline C. The final score was a 7:2 win to the Crows. The score was well and truly down to team’s play, all ladies had a fantastic game and everyone put 110% in.

Women's 3's:

Women’s 3’s played Southwick away on Saturday. The home team started strong and despite the efforts of Captain Sarah M and Bethy C at centre back the team quickly found themselves 3 goals down. The Crows continued to battle with Jenny T pushing up giving Meg S and Jenny B several good runs to feed the young frontline opportunities to drive into the D but Southwick's defence was too strong.  At halftime it was 4:0 but Crowborough re grouped and came out fighting for the 2nd half. Turning defence into attack Jenny B found her way past the goalie to score but it continued to be a fast running game and the away team found another 2 goals to finish the game in a 6:1 defeat.

Men's 1's:

Men's 1's travelled to Worthing to play their 4's on Saturday. A younger Crowborough side went up against an older experienced Worthing side. From the push back, Worthing tried to put early pressure on however Crowborough held their own and were able to get shots away but they narrowly missing the back of the net. Going into the 2nd half, both sides held at a stalemate until Worthing were able slot a short corner bottom left to get the 1st goal of the game. This kicked Crowborough into action with them scoring within seconds of push back with Freddie L making a run through Worthings defence leading to the 1st goal. From here, Crowborough found their feet leading to two more well worked goals with James P and Finn A both scoring. After this, Worthing dropped off the pace until they were able to get another short corner which was defected off of 2 of Crowborough's feet and found it's way into the goal. For the final few minutes of the game, Worthing worked hard to try and even the score but Crowborough held out to win 3:2.

Men's 3's:

After 2 heavy loses, the Men’s 3’s hosted South Saxons 5’s. Adding 2 development boys Henry S and George L, to the side this week, Crowborough made a quick start, they where creating chances and putting on a display the numerous supporters enjoyed immensely. Unable to beat the visitors keeper with a number of chances, South Saxons struck and scored against the run of play. The 2nd half saw a great display of hockey from the Crows and found a well deserved equaliser. Lewis H driving into the box, committing the keeper and slipping it into the path of Jude F to slot it home for the Crows. Such a fine performance from all with Player of the match was deservedly given to development center back Henry S.

Girl's Development:

Girl's development took on South Saxons on a drizzly Saturday morning at home. With no keeper the opposition played 11 on pitch and the ladies were up against it. The Saxons defensive line was strong and the attack found it challenging to break through.  The ladies played plenty of width and some great hockey but the 1st half found the ladies down by 4, the score does not do justice for how hard the defense played or how amazing Isla B was in goal. Not disheartened the Crows came out strong in the 2nd half and found a lot more space, with speed and accuracy through midfield we saw goals from Catherine, Sally and Lexi. The end result was a 4:3 defeat but the ladies did themselves proud once again and every week are showing a new dynamic to their game.
